VSP has a comprehensive network of private optometrists, ophthalmologists and retail chain affiliates.  Each time you need vision care, you can either go to a participating VSP provider or affiliate and receive a higher level of benefits, or you can go outside the network and pay more.

The VSP Vision plan provides coverage for an annual vision exam with a $10 copay.  Additionally, a $1303 allowance (in lieu of glasses) is available for contact lenses. 

If you prefer glasses, frames are available with a $25 copay.  You are then provided with a $200 allowance towards frames or $220 for featured brands.  Coverage through VSP also provides a 20% discount on the remaining out of pocket costs.  The frames benefit is available every 24 months.

 

Glasses lenses are covered with a $25 copay for single, lined bifocal, lined trifocals and polycarbonate lenses for children.  Various other copays apply for differing lens enhancements.

There are no claim forms to file when you use network providers. If you use providers outside the network, you must file a claim with VSP and you’ll be reimbursed up to the scheduled amounts.
